So we’ve started the open process of developing tools to help business have an impact in addition to a bigger bottom line. The first step in this process will be involving a community, or working group around the issues we face as social businesses. This is a big task, and we’re certainly not approaching it [...]

Great points Alejandro, glad to you've decided to be involved in the project! We're just working through the structure of this engagement, so that's why there is just that public page for now. This area is actually being designed right now, so that it will all make a bit more sense. This here is the [...]

Hello, for me it is daring to be part of this initiative. As been said, let´s move on about this first topic. This is my opinion about the virtual places we had:
It was not until this explanation that I understand which are the places and what for.
Personally, I felt a little mixed up [...] -

This is quite a relevant conversation. I wonder if it will work here. let's try. So there are actually 3 different places(2 on thmvmnt.net)
The whole destination of thmvmnt.net is dedicated to making world changing projects better. The external site is dedicated to simply letting people know about projects. Here is a breakdown of the groups:

This here is the place for discussion, and I’m really looking forward to having a structure that encourages it. Stay tuned!

Personally, I felt a little mixed up when I first found the sites. At first, I reached the blog at thmvmnt.net, then I sign up the group we´re actually in. After that, I met the businessmodelbeyondprofit.com and feel amazed about the120 aprox. people interested and signed up.
This is a good structure, and you may know it!, specially when the functions of each one are correctly exposed.
Maybe a first step to get involved with the right ones is by inviting those 120 people to join this group. Or by opening an invitation through a big site, called it: linkedin, facebook, via twitter or etc.
Looking forward to contribute.

The whole destination of thmvmnt.net is dedicated to making world changing projects better. The external site is dedicated to simply letting people know about projects. Here is a breakdown of the groups:
Public
-Creates buzz in project, spreads meme
-Suggests to other people who might join the support group or team
-uses / buys final output
-converts to supporterSupporter
-Participates in initial Event
-Participates in online discussion / critique
-Offers connections / resources
-converts to teamerWorker
-Producers artifacts from group sessions
-Writes blog posts about progress & process
-Submits variations, editsLikewise, there’s a place for each of these.
The public space (businessmodelsbeyondprofit.com) is for the public to know about the project and get excited.
This place (/workgroups/business-models-beyond-profit) is for supporters, people who, like you, are willing to critique, discuss, and encourage.
The project blog is for workers to post progress and make the activity visible to the support group for feedback.
What do you think of this structure? What can we do quickly to make this more apparent? How can we get the right people involved?

Each of the projects highlighted on the mvmnt.net site has its own external web presence. I have seen this pattern repeatedly in many projects and it ends up confusing people and diluting the potential of a critical mass on one site.
I believe that we should think about specific complementary roles for the movement’s project blogs if we want to avoid dissipating the momentum built by a project.
Let’s start by clearly defining:
1. What is the role of the project blog on the movement’s site?
2. What is the role of the project’s external site(s)?
3. How can we make the two above complementary and mutually reinforcing instead of diluting?
